In July 2024, the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) held a public hearing on the future of gas in Maryland. This written testimony explains the need for the PSC to open a proceeding for the future of gas so that the state can begin to move away from further investment in fossil fuel infrastructure, and toward electrification, particularly in the context of low-income consumers.
