Our 25th Anniversary!
On October 15th, friends, colleagues, partners, and clients joined us to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. There was music, good food, and fond memories. We reflected on the many challenges and victories that have occurred over the last quarter-century. We are grateful to everyone who came or supported our celebration.
Next week, we’ll know if the federal political landscape has changed; if new leaders are elected that center communities needs over corporate greed, that focus on addressing the cost of living crisis too many families struggle with today.
In Maryland, we already know there is a great deal of work to be done. As we look toward the 2027 Legislative session, it’s clear that it is more important than ever to pass policies and programs that respond to the brutal economy that is making it harder for everyday Marylanders to stay afloat. Too many are falling behind, and we must do better to make life easier for our neighbors and families across the state.
To succeed, we can reflect on the lessons learned over our 25 year history. Namely, it takes a village. We all have a role to play–researchers, policy wonks, class action attorneys, legal service providers, social workers, housing counselors, supporters, and people with lived experience. Each of us has a role in passing legislation, sharing our stories, directly assisting those in need, and holding bad actors accountable.
As one of our supporters whose partnership, emails, and calls have helped pass both groundbreaking and basic legislation that improves the lives for Maryland families, we need you now. Your financial support fuels our work and allows us to be nimble as we work to counter lobbyists representing Silicon Valley and Wall Street.

That’s why Economic Action is launching a $25 for 25 Campaign. Can you become a $25 monthly sustainer to support our work in Annapolis as well as the 2000 housing and older adult clients we work with each year? A sustaining membership provides us with funds to fuel this work each month of the year.
We have an ambitious legislative agenda to address energy prices, housing costs, healthcare, auto insurance and protect families that are falling behind. We can’t wait to share more with you.
Thank you for your support over the past 25 years. We hope you will join our $25 for 25 Campaign. For the cost of a coffee for a week, you can help us build and maintain our power to take on the firms that are fueling the affordability crisis.
