On September 11, 2025 our Securing Older Adult Resources (SOAR) Team hosted the Adult Mental Health First Aid training provided by Behavioral Health System Baltimore at our offices. Attendees learned how to assist and support others who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Adult Mental Health First Aid teaches the skills needed to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, as well as how to provide someone with initial support until they are connected with appropriate professional help. The deadline to apply for the Maryland Homeowners’ and Renters’ Tax Credit Programs is October first! These programs, offered by the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT), provide financial relief to eligible households based on income and property value. Maryland Renters and Homeowners Tax Credit Assistance
Two additional SOAR sites have been added, so Maryland tenants and homeowners can get assistance with the Maryland Renters and Homeowners Tax Credit applications. Starting, Wednesday, July 1, 2025 our SOAR staff will be at the Community Action Partnership Center Northwest location, 3939 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, Md 21215 until October 1, 2025. They are available every Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
